Its always an honor when a Set Director calls needing a cake for their movie, TV series or a Photo shoot. FunCakes is easily the BEST choice as our cakes are fake, so no need to worry about moving the cake around or hot studio lights damaging the cake… let alone the cost !! We are minimum half price from a real cake and since we use real fondant, our cakes always look real. We were honored to make the cake for the first Hangover Movie, that was a fun email , I thought they were going to want vomit, with a subject of “The Hangover”. The Set Director called and got all the information and said the assistant would call to order, well, we never heard back. So 2 months later the Set Director calls to make sure the cake is shipping out the next day….. what??? So it was a made rush to make 2 cakes, 4 tiers, standing 24″ tall with all sill flowers ( thank goodness we didn’t have to make handmade sugar flowers). It was a rush but we got it done and you will see our cake in the opening scene. That was an amazing experience to see your cake up on the BIG screen !!

Pictured here, is our latest Set Director cake…. this was for Netflix and the show “Never Have I Ever” . What FUN was this cake to make!! I know as a Cake Decorator you should never have a favorite cake, but golly, I am a color girl and Indian Cakes are definitely full of FUN colors !! The Set Director chose the size and colors for the tiers and we got to choose how to decorate each tier. Well Indian cakes are always done gold, such FUN !! This will be airing soon.
